I am Mina Esfandiari, a CRPO Registered Psychotherapist (RP) offering in-person psychotherapy in Oakville and online therapy across Ontario.
In today’s fast-paced world, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who we are and what we truly want. Psychotherapy can offer a space to slow down, listen inward, and make room for what has been wounded, lost, silenced, or left unspoken.
My work is rooted in depth-oriented, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed psychotherapy. Together, we work toward creating meaningful and lasting change by gently exploring your inner world, your relationships, your history, and the patterns that may be shaping your present life. Healing is not about becoming untouched by pain. It is about gradually reclaiming your voice, your desires, your sense of aliveness, and your capacity to flourish, while finding a more compassionate way to live with life’s losses, limits, and uncertainties.
I specialize in supporting clients with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, childhood trauma, burnout, workplace stress, family dynamics, identity exploration, LGBTQ+ and queer/trans mental health, and prenatal and postpartum mental health. I also support clients navigating grief, self-esteem, parenting, cultural and racial identity, neurodivergence, and major life transitions
My Background and Training
I hold graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology and Gender and Social Justice. I have been practicing in the field of mental health for 10 years.
My clinical background includes training in trauma therapy, psychoanalysis, modern psychoanalytic psychotherapy, adolescent psychotherapy, queer studies, and prenatal and postpartum mental health. I completed a two-year training in Modern Psychoanalysis and Adolescent Psychotherapy Theory and Technique through the New York Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies. I also hold a Master’s degree in Gender and Social Justice from McMaster University.
My approach is informed by psychoanalytic psychotherapy, trauma therapy, attachment theory, mentalization-based thinking, feminist and queer-informed perspectives, and a culturally sensitive understanding of mental health.
My practice is grounded in an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and intersectional lens. I strive to hold cultural humility at the centre of the therapeutic work, with attention to how identity, culture, power, and systemic oppression shape each person’s lived experience.
How I Work
Therapy with me is less about following a fixed to-do list and more about creating a thoughtful space for being. It is a space where we can slow down, notice what has been difficult to name, and begin to understand the emotional patterns that may be affecting your life, relationships, work, body, and sense of self.
I aim to offer a warm, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. Our work may include exploring your past and present experiences, your relationship patterns, your inner conflicts, your coping strategies, and the parts of you that may have had to stay hidden or protected for a long time. Healing often begins when you are given the space to narrate your story and make meaning of what you have lived through.
Whether you are seeking therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, burnout, identity questions, postpartum challenges, or a desire for deeper self-understanding, our work can support you in moving toward greater clarity, emotional freedom, and a more grounded relationship with yourself.
